Clown Station

Our new school building has an elevator in it. This apparently made quite the impression on H&L. Ever since they went to camp they have been pretenting that the guest bathroom is the elevator. The other day they managed to get both of their car seats in to the 3'x3' space. I am not quite sure why.

But tonight, the guest bathroom was elevated (no pun intended) to a "clown station". I am not sure what that is, but the moniker seems appropriate for our house.

Museos

We have had to be a little more creative to burn energy when its 100+ degrees outside. every. day.

We have made two recent trips to museums - the Austin Children's Museum and the New Braunfels Children's Museum. All said, I prefer the New Braunfels museum. Its on one level (opposed to 3 at ACM), has an outdoor water area, an art room that they leave open with projects, a space area, and an awesome grocery store with carts. L&H could spend hours in that grocery store.

The ACM has two rotating exhibits. One is a maker's (art) workshop which equals a bunch of scissors, saws and hole punches on the table. Granted they are tethered. But its still kind of scary with 2 under 3. The other rotating exhibit is (as far as I can tell) Mexico. One room has a hard plastic bed. In another area you can make tamales (which actually occupied quite a lot of time). I'm all for multiculturalism, but some of it is stuff they just look at. We need interaction. And lots of it.
