Spring Has Sprung

We spent 1.5 meals today up at Phils/Amy's, our neighborhood outdoor burger, beer, ice cream, playscape destination (also known as Lord of the Flies).

March Madness

BB sent us some awesome UK cheerleading outfits, along with pom poms and teddy bears who are also wearing cheerleading costumes.

Its amazing what they will do for some jelly beans. Don't call CPS.

I hope my girls

don't get a skewed perspective by me calling them my beauties, but how can I help it? Need to balance with compliments like "you're a hard worker" "you are kind" "you are good at kicking".

Aquarena Springs

In our tween holiday time we took a trip to Aquarena Springs in San Marcos. Before Sea World and Six Flags, Aquarena used to be a large tourist attraction in Central Texas. The natural spring (which is large and can refill itself 5-6 times a day with underwater springs)was a swimming pool and hosted an underwater theater that included young ladies dressed as mermaids. It also hosted underwater weddings and featured a swimming pig.

Now its a nature preserve. They have glass bottom boat tours and an aquarium in what used to be the resort's hotel. And its a little creepy. Reminds me of the show "life after people".

The clear water

Grizzly Girls

Lately the girls have been using trees to scratch their backs. They lift up their shirts and dresses and get those itches good. I guess we told them this is how bears scratch their backs. Interesting which things stick. Not staying in their seats at the dinner table, but back scratching.

These boots

might be the only time we wear our winter boots. We went to see the Princess and the Frog in a wintery mix (read: cold rain).

New bookshelf

Saw in a magazine someone created a bench in a kids room with an ikea bookshelf turned on its side. I ordered a cushion for the top, but it has not arrived yet. We have legs for it, but right now its the right size for the girls
