Project Redesign

I'm obsessed with redesigning the girls rooms. We are thinking about separating them. Lucy would stay in the current room with a twin bed and a trundle and Harper would go to the guest room queen. Then if we had guests, they could still be accommodated easily, while still giving the girls some of their own space. Which is more than I have now that I'm thinking about it.

I am thinking pink/green for Lucy and a light blue or aqua mixed with a melon/deep rose for Harper.

We have been going to performances of children's theater for a while now. One of the highlights is that the girls get to pose with the actors/characters after the show.

Lucy decided after giving us all a dance performance that we would be able to do the same.

What I learned on my summer vacation

We went to Corpus Christi this past week (Sun-Tues). This past week was one of the only (until mid August) that we had no camp lined up. So we took an impromptu trip. Here is what I learned.

-Vacation with kids is just really a relocation.
-Lucy doesn't like sand or too much sun in her eyes. Preferred the indoor pool. Scratch beach vacation off the list.
-Corpus beachgoers like to smoke. And leave their butts on the beach, along with beer cans and the occasional condom.
-Lucy really likes shreeemp.
-Harper is pretty scared of alligators. But adjusted to the little ones.
-My childrens' behavior is akin to river otters.
- Viewing the dolphin show from underneath is cool.

Summertime and the livin is...

Not so easy. Its hot. We have no regular schedule. The upside is that we have had some fun camps and vacations.

More on that later.

First, here are some shots from their last day of school. I was very melancholy. They have had Miss Nooshi for two years. Next year they will officially be in the preschool (not Mom's Day Out) and will be in separate classes.
