A Mommy friend asked me what we're doing for potty training. Basically it is this. I have potties. I ask the girls if they want to use the potty. They inevitably answer no. We read books about going on the potty and I set a good example by doing all my business in the potty. But I'm not pushing it. So I was a little surprised today to hear my (briefly diaperless) daughters yelling "poopy!" from the bathroom.
Harper had runny poo down her leg and on her sandal and was screaming (appropriate reaction as far as I'm concerned). And on the bathroom rug. Again, reminding me of a nervous cocker spaniel.
But then I look down and see turds of an entirely different consistency in the potty. Who did it? Was the accident just Harper's late stage poo of which most made it into the potty, or did Lucy do it? Noone would claim it. Lucy did say "Harper" but based on forensics I would have to say it was Lucy.
I'm glad they are taking the initiative, but I spent the next 15 minutes cleaning the tub, and shoes and the floor, and putting rugs in the laundry.
