Actually, the real impact of Spring Break '08 was...
No storytime. I hauled the twosome to the public library sans stroller, hoping to escort them quickly into the secure storytime room. But it was Spring Break. Clearly, you can't have the baby storytime. What? Kids are out of school. Don't Moms need the storytime more than ever? Needless to say my children behaved like monkeys. Running toward the door, rearranging the furniture in the kids area, pulling books of the shelf. We made a hasty exit.
Hipster Influx. The students leave, but are replaced by hipsters from both coasts coming for the sxsw film and music festival. I couldn't go downtown for fear that L&H would want to dye their bangs black, wear skinny jeans and 80s tee-shirts, smoke and sneer. I have enough sneering as it is. To make matter worse, 1/2 of my friends joined said hipsters to watch music, movies and drink beer. Smack dab in the middle of the day. Bastards.
Bizarre weather. March can't make up its mind. The week started out rainy and cold, turned 95 and sunny and ended up breezy and overcast.
No Daddy. Greg left to ski in Colorado on Friday and is coming home tomorrow. Consequently the house is a wreck, errands are backed up and momma is tired. At least one of us got a Spring Break '08.
