Winners

A while back - early Fall, I actually won something. A fundraising raffle at our school for lunch with your teacher. It was a little awkward when I realized I actually needed 2 lunches... probably shouldn't have bough so many raffle tickets. But the girls really enjoyed it. Highlights - they each got pet shops (dog for Lucy, bunny for Harper)paper flowers, a cupcake, lemonade AND a cookie. Most of all special time with their favorite teachers - Ms. Sheffield and Mrs. MacQueen.

October recap

I never posted Halloween or pumpkin pictures. I feel obliged before we get to Christmas. We had a family costume this year. Wizard of Oz. I could be hipper and say it was Wicked. But we'll go w/ the classic.

Thankful

Preschool Thanksgiving "feast" of chicken nuggets and mac 'n cheese. Cutest Indian and Pilgrim ever.

Lucy had to have pink ribbons on her bonnet and the coffee filter collars were hilarious. She definitely seems more pilgrim than Indian. Harper fit her role nicely as well.

abominable snow suits

To continue my love of outerwear despite the fact that it rarely drops below 48 degrees, the girls also got snowsuits. We are planning to go to New Mexico, where it allegedly snows. Though they are having a "warm winter" so far.

I have gotten my value out of these just letting them wear them around the house. The giggle and chest bump each other, tackle and run around like they are in those ridiculous sumo suits they made you wear at your companies last team builder. Or is that just me?

Living in the wrong place

I clearly need to move much further north. I love layering. The more clothes I can put on my body the better. The same goes for the girls. I love them in tights. And boots. And is there really anything cuter on a little girl than a puffer vest?

The temperature dropped below 80 recently, and in the last 2 days I bought a grand total of 6 pieces of outerwear for the girls. I have a problem.

Snow in Texas

this is about as close as we get to snow here.

We used this as a love and logic "teaching moment". After they had to clean up after their glee, we are pretty sure we sucked all the fun out of playing with packing peanuts. Until the next package arrives.

I had a dream...

The girls have liked telling me their dreams lately.

My favorite was Lucy's "I had a dream that a pony was taking a shower with rainbow soap."

Is there anything more delightfully girly and imaginative and silly than that?
